Your input could help make that happen
According to the National Restaurant Association, the Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF) has been a tremendously valuable recovery program for the restaurant industry. The problem for far too many restaurant owners – perhaps you are one of them – is that the $28.6 billion allocated for this relief funding initiative is running out.
Bottom line – it won’t be enough to help all the restaurants in need.
The Small Business Administration estimates that the restaurant industry will require at least an another $50 billion just to fund the applications submitted before the application portal was closed.
So, what can we do?
FetchMe is tracking the National Restaurant Association discussions with the sponsors of a new piece of legislation called the RRF Replenishment Act, and we are excited to announce that this important legislation is being introduced in the House of Representatives. This Act will direct $60 billion in funding to the SBA specifically targeted to you and your fellow small restaurant owners. The funds can be used to cover a wide variety of expenses and initiatives – including stepped-up marketing campaigns for on-premises, take-out and delivery of meals.
The work of this group of bipartisan sponsors: Senator Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS), Representative Earl Blumenauer (D-OR), and Representative Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) has been critical. But they need our help. This bill will not be brought to the floor for debate unless there is broad bipartisan support.
Congress heard our voice when they created the original RRF, and they need to hear from us again to ensure it receives this much needed increase in funding. Many in Washington think that the return to indoor dining means that the restaurants will be fully back to normal within a few months. The truth is that our industry is still incredibly vulnerable and faces a long path to full recovery. We need this bill.
We urge you to weigh in with your representatives in Washington by filling out this simple form here to share your perspective – it takes less than 30 seconds – and together we can move Congress to support our local restaurant community.
Please consider doing so today. Your participation in helping to support our local restaurant community is greatly appreciated.
